Every time I see variations of this phrase, I think of Holocaust victims, people who commit suicide, and other cases where this is obviously not the case.

Especially Tattoos.

It’s such a fine line between a facial expression that says, “Oh, my love, I am moved to tears by the love displayed in this correspondence.” and “Oh God, I’m marrying a perverted psychopath.”

If you’re trying to subtly off somebody, maybe poison would be a tad less conspicuous.
