The amount of “thinspiration” posts on Pinterest is unsettling. I only recently learned that “thinspiration” is actually a term coined by the pro-anorexia community, which makes it extra painful to see normal people giving it this much air time.

This text is just plain wrong. Yes – some people do have control over their weight and may need to simply “get out of their own way”. Some people, however, do not. And this picture is probably someone who is underweight (or at least borderline underweight) and really shouldn’t be used to imply this is how people should aim to look.

If you are this skinny naturally and you are healthy, more power to you. I’m not judging skinny people – I used to be one of them. But I don’t believe that everyone needs to be like this picture (or even in the magic BMI range) in order to be healthy.

This pin just bothered me on so many levels. >.<

…in your face everyday. That’s funny for a moment, but mean over any extended period of time.

This type of humor really bugs me (I couple it with anti-marriage or men-are-so-stupid/lazy/needy/etc type humor).

Someone pinned this as an idea for bridesmaid dresses. I would be terrified to be her bridesmaid because I would think you need a near flawless body to pull this off – healthy, light, and perky cleavage for that plunging neckline and a toned back for all that is exposed. Oh – and you have to do all of this without a bra.

Gorgeous dress, but I wouldn’t ask anyone else to wear it. This is strictly a “buy for me” only kind of dress.

This is terrifying. Nightmare fodder. It looks like he’s preparing to cut one and the cloud is bracing itself for impact. There seems to be crack floating around them and the pony looks like it has Down syndrome or just had his tongue pierced.

But “Mentally Hilarious” is not a term anyone uses and doesn’t even make any sense – which only further confirms your insanity diagnosis.

Disney Pin-ups that are frightening – making the already tiny Disney waists even smaller and giving them HUGE hips and thighs to contrast. Not to mention that they’re not really in classic pic-up style or pose:

The only possible explanation is this is so any picture of yourself you take in a mirror makes sure you are branded a “Jesus Freak”. Is that something people desire? If I saw a mirror picture of a Jesus Freak, I would roll my eyes right out of my head.

These look yummy (Chocolate Chip Cookie + Oreo + Brownie = OMG), but really? “Slutty” Brownies? What does that even mean?

Don’t get me wrong – I like this picture. But the first thing that comes to mind when seeing it is not “purple eyeshadow”.
